Introduction
Unlike other charities, Devon Community Foundation allows you to decide what happens to your money and how it is spent.
The Foundation has been set up to address the problems of local people in need. To date we have awarded more than £5,669,580 in grants to voluntary and community groups across Devon, helping to change the lives of local people for the better.
We are part of a network of more than 60 Community Foundations in the UK and were one of the five to have secure the Network's Quality Accreditation.
Our track record includes managing funds for voluntary organisations such as Comic Relief, private donors and companies.
We also work with major public bodies, including the Department for Education & Skills, Government Office South West, the South West Regional Development Agency, Devon County Council and Exeter City Council. Click here for a list of all our fund holders.
With our help, these donors have supported a huge range of local projects and people, ranging from activity weekends for young carers to sailing for disabled people and from rural transport to lunch clubs for the elderly, to name but a few.
The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Trustees.
Becoming a Fund Holder
If you decide to become a Devon Community Foundation Fund Holder we will set up your fund with the minimum of bureaucracy, fuss and cost.
You can have as little or as much say in how your fund is used as you wish, including making decisions about what to support. There's also the added security of knowing that each grant awarded is backed up by a detailed seven stage assessment process. We use our professional expertise and knowledge of the local community to ensure that your support goes to those who really need it.
To make a real difference, it's easy to set up your own fund, either in your life-time or by leaving a legacy.
