Hartland Print Workshop

Hartland Print Workshop, located in the far north of the County, used its grant of £3,455 to provide Saturday morning printmaking workshops for young people. Hartland is an isolated rural community in what is nationally recognised as being a deprived area. There is a lack of both social and cultural facilities which disadvantages the young people of the area, for whom there is very little to do. Rural transport is an issue and it is difficult for  young people to get to the nearest town, Bideford, to take part in activities. The workshops were provided to give them something to do, whilst honing their creative skills.

Following on from this very successful project, the group was awarded a further grant of £4,197 to run print making workshops for a different group of young people.

The children and young people involved benefited in many ways. Not only did they learn new skills, but they also gained in confidence and became more creative and less stressed.
