Vetting Process

1) Who can apply to be vetted for Localgiving.com?

Not-for-profit organisations that help to meet local community needs and have:
• a local management committee
• a governing document, such as a constitution

2) Who can't apply?

Statutory organisations including schools, national organisations where the money won't stay in and benefit Devon, projects promoting political activities, commercial ventures, individuals, projects for the sole benefit of animals /plants, other grant making organisations. If in doubt about your eligibility please ring us before you apply.

3) Does Devon Community Foundation charge a vetting fee?

Yes, there is charge for being vetted by us. If you are a voluntary or community group that is unknown to us, then we will need to vet your organisation in the same way that we would if we were assessing you for a grant. This vetting is necessary to make sure donors are confident that all groups are trustworthy. Currently we charge an administration fee of £80 to vet an organisation, this process will need to be repeated every two years.

4) How do we apply?

If you aren't known to Devon Community Foundation or haven't received for a grant from us in the last two years then you will need to apply to be vetted. If you have made a successful application to us in the last two years then give us a call as you might not need to apply to be vetted.

Please return your completed application form to Devon Community Foundation, together with a copy of your group's Constitution, accounts for the last year, and your Vulnerable Adult/ Child Protection Policy (if relevant) and your payment of £80.

We actively encourage applications to be submitted by email, but please remember that any documents requiring signatures will need to be scanned before they can be emailed. Any documents you need to post can be sent to the address below:
